Samantha McKenna is the founder of #samsales, a million-dollar consulting company based in Washington. With fifteen years in enterprise sales, she’s carved out quite the inspiring career, generating millions, and sharing her tactics with hundreds of clients, improving processes, and changing the way salespeople connect with prospects and drive sales. She’s broken 13 sales records with her personalized, results-driven approach, a lot of which is rooted in her “Show me You Know me” method. Here’s what we learned about the secret to Mckenna’s success!
Samantha McKenna’s Four Keys to Growth
Get personal (the right way): McKenna believes salespeople focus too much on the professional side of getting to know a prospect. Not that you should stalk their personal accounts and go full creeper; instead, pay attention to the personal touches they add to their professional profiles.
Track former movements of prospects: Everyone has a past, including your prospects! A good way to get a feel of where they’re coming from (literally), is to check your CRM for former posts and other important pieces of their career. It could come in handy during that meeting.
Bespoke email headers: This one might sound simple but it’s not. How many email headers do you see claiming to come from the “top {type of company}” in the world? How often do you open them? Exactly. Tailor your headers to your prospects. It doesn’t take a lot of time to do it if you consider how much time it will save you!
The anti-cold call approach: This is maybe McKenna’s most controversial take, but she doesn’t believe in cold-calling, at all! She focuses on warm calling, and triggers, and works on breaking the ice with a prospect through (can you guess?) – bespoke emails, before hopping on a call.
